The following directions will walk you through how to use remote control capabilities with others through Zoom. This could be helpful when troubleshooting laptop issues with staff members.


Enabling Remote Support on your Zoom Account (One Time Process)

1 Sign into your Zoom account through your browser. (Not the client)

If you are unsure how to log into Zoom, please see the first section "Web-Based Login" in the following directions: Logging Into Zoom
2 Click Settings along the left side of the screen.
3 Click Meeting near the upper left corner of your screen.
4 Scroll down the screen until you find Remote control. (Its about half way down) Toggle this on so the button is blue.



Using Remote Control within Your Zoom Meeting

These directions assume that you are hosting a Zoom meeting and your participant has joined.

1 Near the bottom of the screen click Support.

Note: If you don't see support as an option it should be under More.
2 Click Request Desktop Control from the pop-up menu.
3 The participant will receive a message on their computer notifying them that you have requested remote access. They need to click Grant Permission.
4 You can now see and control the participants screen!
5 Once you are done with your remote session click View Options near the top of the screen. From the drop-down menu click Stop Participant's Sharing.
