Quick Home Fixes
Move your laptop closer to your wireless access point or router.
Plug your computer directly into your router via a wired Ethernet jack, instead of relying on the WiFi in your home (newer Macs will need a dongle to use the jack). This prevents WiFi dropouts and speed issues.
To hold a Zoom video conference, you’ll need up to 3 Mbps of download 3 Mbps of upload. See the Zoom bandwidth requirements.
Limit other non-essential activities while you are working (such as Netflix streaming or gaming).
To prevent or address issues with Zoom:
Before a Zoom meeting, test your audio or video connection on the Zoom test site at zoom.us/test
If you are connecting from a laptop, plug the laptop into wall power. Battery use can adversely affect video quality.
Connect your Zoom audio via your cell phone or landline if bandwidth is an issue.
Turn off your Zoom video, using just audio, if you are experiencing quality issues during a video conference.
