Creating Zoom Meetings In Canvas
Through An Announcement

In a browser, navigate to wayzataschools.zoom.us/profile
If prompted, login.

In the Personal Meeting ID section, copy the URL provided.

In another tab within your browser, navigate to the Home page of the Canvas course you want to add Zoom to.

Click New Announcement on the right side of the screen.

Type the desired title and body of your announcement. In the body, paste your Personal Meeting ID you copied in step 2.
Highlight the pasted URL and click the Link to URL button near the top of the body content.
Again, paste the Personal Meeting ID into the presented pop-up and click Insert Link.

Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Through A Module

In a browser, navigate to the Modules page of the Canvas course you want to add Zoom to.

Click +Module in the upper right corner of the screen.
Name your module and then click Add Module.

Click the + icon for your newly created module.
Then in the Add drop-down menu select External URL.

Enter your Zoom Personal Meeting URL into the URL field. Note: If you are unsure what your personal Meeting URL is, see steps 1 & 2 in the "Through An Announcement" at the top of this document.
Type in the name for the Page Name.
Check the box for Load in a new tab.
Lastly, click Add Item.

On the right hand side of the screen, click the publish icon for both the item and the module.
Through Course Navigation

In a browser, navigate to the Settings page of the Canvas course you want to add Zoom to.

Click Apps near the top of the screen.
In the search box, type "redirect".
Click the Redirect app icon that appears.

Click +Add App.
Type your desired name in the Name field.
Enter your Zoom Personal Meeting URL into the URL Redirect field. Note: If you are unsure what your personal Meeting URL is, see steps 1 & 2 in the "Through An Announcement" at the top of this document.
Check the box next to "Show in Course Navigation".
Lastly, click Add App.
Through A Course Event

In a browser, navigate to the Calendar page along the left side of the screen.
Then click on the day you want to schedule a Virtual Class session.

Type your desired name in the Title field.
Set your time range in the From field.
Click on the Calendar drop-down menu and select the course you want to add this Zoom meeting to.
Lastly, click More Options.

Type the desired title and body of your calendar event. In the body, type your Personal Meeting ID. Note: If you are unsure what your personal Meeting URL is, see steps 1 & 2 in the "Through An Announcement" at the top of this document.
Highlight the pasted URL and click the Link to URL button near the top of the body content.
Again, paste the Personal Meeting ID into the presented pop-up and click Insert Link.

Near the bottom of the screen you have the option to set up different times for each Course section if you choose. You also have the option to set up event recurrences if you want to schedule future meetings.

Click Create Event.
